IT”S COMING EVENTUALLY!!!

Well we know we can’t run from it forever eh?  Yes ’I'm talking about that four letter word that makes people chilly just thinking about it!  SNOW! We have been lucky so far in the Poconos with very tolerable weather as of late.  But before soon we will be shoveling the driveway of the white stuff and salting the walkway.  Me personally, I actually love this time of year.   Brings me back when growing up lacing up the skates while my feet froze just to skate on the lake all afternoon or at least until just before frostbite set in!!!!  OK a little hyperbole there I guess, but this really is a fun time of year for those outdoor enthusiasts.  Where else can you go skiing, tubing, shredding, hiking, or snowshoeing all in the same weekend or same day for that matter.  Well that might be the Poconos.   I am too afraid of skiing and breaking a leg or something, but hiking in the snow is lots of fun and ridiculous  exercise.  The Poconos offers tons of year round activity  and Winter is no exception.  If your really brave you can try snowmobiling once it gets cold enough to have plenty of snow.  There are also lots of cross-country skiing trails as well through state parks and around lakes as well.  Picturesque would be an understatement.

So don’t be shy, we would love a visit from you, come see what you’ve been hearing all about.

Autumn is here!!! Finally.

Well it’s that time of year again, when the leaves start changing color and the air is a little bit cooler than the summer blast we get every year.  This is the time of year when we start cleaning up the yard of leaves and pull out our gardens and put away all those potted plants we had sitting outside soaking up all the sun.  Well with all that rain we had its good to see the sun for several days in a row.  It really is good to see the ground drying up for a change.  There was a point when we couldn’t walk in our yard without getting wet and muddy!  Yuk…

We’re hoping this nice weather will bring out buyers to “check out” the Poconos during this beautiful season  of colors in our forests.  Breathtaking really, eh?  Well it would be nice to see them come out for a visit and even maybe get interested in finding for themselves a little piece of the Poconos for them to enjoy.  After all, there are tons of deals out there right now and anyone who has been thinking about it, should come see for themselves instead of taking our word for it!!  Well it would be nice to see them and even take them out for a drive to see some homes for sale as well as the natural beauty of the Poconos.  And before you know it, the snow will be falling!!!! Yes that’s right, that four letter word most people don’t want to hear.  Well, it’s inevitable, it’s coming!!!!  This winter will bring the skiers, hunters, and snowmobilers alike to enjoy that white stuff.  It’s really not that bad, unless your from the tropics!!!!  In that case you may want to be home until April! LOL.  That said, I will leave you by saying this; come one come all, come see what we have to offer this fall!!!  See you in the Poconos.

Real Estate: The Best of or Not!!

Well it’s been a while since I last wrote.  Needless to say I have been trying to keep busy with my business this year.  I noticed two separate waves this year so far.  Each one followed by a recess.  Not too surprising since everyone seems to be on edge lately.  It’s no wonder, with all these “experts” telling us how gloomy it is.  Well what the heck, let’s just lay down and comply to that way of thinking and give up!!  Well?  I didn’t think so.  I’m not giving up either.  The only way we are going to move forward with our economy is to get our Buyers excited about what’s out there and get them in these homes that are otherwise empty.  It seems that every time  we turn around we are reading negative things about what’s going on in today’s market.  Well,  personally I feel we need to move on.   If the power of suggestion is so powerful, then I suggest that from tomorrow on we all start to think nothing but positive  thoughts.  This way we will feel better about our futures and ourselves and maybe it will relieve some of the daily stress that is upon us.  Collectively we can make a difference.  So let’s do it!!

Buyers are getting eager!!

Hello again, I am writing today to add a NEW SPECIES to Pennsylvanis’s list of wildlife.  Oh yes, I must say that Pocono Real Estate  offers many surprises especially in the Poconos.  There are many ways to enjoy the Poconos all year long.  But where else in Pennsylvania can you go Emu watching?  Yes that’s right, for generations we speak of all the wildlife in the Poconos has to offer and I don’t remember ever talking about Emu’s!  We have plenty of deer, bear, turkey, and game birds galore, but Emu’s?  This was a sight to see today.  It turns out a colleague and friend of mine just a couple of days prior let me know of an escaped Emu in our general area and to be on the lookout for it.  She knows to whom it belongs.    So here I am driving home from a listing appointment to look out my driver’s side window to see this very large bird walking through a farmers field.  So of course I called my friend straightaway to let her know.  I guess you know the outcome by now; the owners showed up to help coax it back home and the Emu survived his escapades.  All is well that ends well(somebody said that right?!)LOL.  So here I am wondering what tomorrow will bring as far as surprises and nuances.  Well, being a Realtor I can say that everyday is a different one.  And I’m sure tomorrow is no different,  however how do I explain to my clients that we have Emu running around in the Poconos?

Latest Pocono Real Estate Update!

Hello there.  Here I go again comparing “our” Real Estate  in the eastern regions of Pennsylvania.  Here is a beautiful shot of Kresgeville from the 14th tee at Hideaway Hills Golf Club.  The day was on the cool side but the turf was green and scenic as usual.  The leaves are still a long ways away from now, but beautiful anyways.  I think this sort of quiet country living is the reason a lot of people  love to move here.  That is the largest reason  why my wife and I moved here 12 years ago.  We took one long weekend here and decided this is where we want to live.   It was intoxicating, to say the least of our weekend getaway that has lasted  12 years.  We spent many weekends upstate NY looking for a new place to reside only to be dazzled the first time we came to PA.  Rolling hills, farmland, thick rich forests, lakes and streams; these are just some of the natural landscapes to describe living in eastern Pennsylvania which includes the Poconos as well as

lots of others.  Not to forget all the lake communities with ammenities.  And have you tried all the FREE fresh air available?  Try some soon, it’ll get your lungs all worked up, literally.  Nice fresh air and lots of scenic views like the one from on top of Camalback Mountain!   Go up there on a clear day and you can see for miles!  No kidding, bring a lunch and picnic on top of the mountain.  And don’t forget all the activities you can do outdoors! Hiking, walking, golfing, fishing, swimming, berry picking, shopping, dining and more! 

So, if you need any more reason to move here in the Poconos, then I think a visit in the near future is in line.  Then you will be able to see for yourself what you’ve been missing all along!  Come along, bring the family, stay a while and make this home.

My Personal Comparison on Texas and Pennsylvania Real Estate!!

Well hello there again.  I promised you a comparison on the Golfing Real Estate here in Pennsylvania and Texas.  I already pointed out that Pennsylvania has very hilly scenic views that at certain times of year is breathtaking.  The greenery and the changing of the seasons is reason enough to visit the Poconos year round.  From skiing and sledding to hiking and golfing and cycling or berry picking.  We have it all here.  No matter what time of year!  Of course Texas as big as it is, has their own features to offer.  First off, everything is bigger there in Texas.  I could not believe the never-ending horizon!! I mean I  looked North and swore I was looking at Canada!! Well OK a little exaggeration.  But I mean really,  this is the longest horizon I ever laid my eyes on.  The sky was as big as the ocean.  And never mind the sky, the golfing was definitely flat  but fun anyways.  This I think took away from my expectations of what to expect down south.  A lot of our golf in PA has lots of hills and trees to hit around which makes it difficult but  scenic at the same time .  The golf landscape was OK in Texas but i think I have to give PA two thumbs up  on this one for the greenery and level of difficulty on the courses.  These courses I like to play in PA include Glenbrook Golf club, Hideaway Hills Golf club, Shawnee golf, Pocono Manor East course, and Country Club of the Poconos, just to name a few of my favorites.  These courses are scenic and challenging at the same time.  I mean you have wildlife abound here.  Deer, Turkeys, Bear and much more!!

So here we are at the end of my trip speaking of Real Estate and my conclusion is this;  I loved my trip to Texas and if it wasn’t for  the heat in the summer I could definitely move there just for the fact of the beautiful scenery and the outdoor life activities abound and not to mention the down to earth people.  I had a great time and would revisit again in  a heartbeat.  However my love of PA and undying love of the golf here makes it hard to make this move physically.  But in my heart I will always have a place in Texas that I will never forget.
